Pediatric Care Services
Children of University of Utah students are eligible to be seen at the Student Health Center. Care providers include family nurse practitioners and 2 board certified pediatricians. Pediatric patients may be seen any day of the week for sickness related visits and certain days for well child care. Parents may always speak with a nurse regarding any concern they may have during normal business hours. Families on the Student Health Insurance Plan may call the Collegiate Assistance Program number on their insurance card for access to a 24/7 Nurseline.
Services offered include:
- Well Child Care
- Recommended visits are:
- 3-5 days of age
- 2 weeks old
- 2, 4, and 6 months old
- 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months of age
- Yearly thereafter
- Immunizations will be given as appropriate at each visit according to CDC guidelines
- If you have the Student Health Insurance plan, childhood vaccinations are covered
at 100%.
- If you have another insurance plan, vaccines may be less expensive at an in network provider. Please check with your insurance provider for your provider network
- Care for acute illness or other problems
- Examples include
- Sickness
- Colds, sore throats, ear infections
- Vomiting and diarrhea
- Behavioral concerns
- Toilet training
- Sleep issues
- Sickness
- Children with more complex or difficult problems can be referred to specialty or subspecialty
providers at Primary Children's Medical Center for pediatric specific services:
- Xrays
- Blood draws
- Subspecialty care
- Hospital Admission
